Home Depot Shopping List

We are just about ready for our home birth. Aside from getting the birth tub, we are pretty much ready. Stormy is full term this weekend, which means the new baby can come anytime. It’s quite exciting.

It’s also exciting to me when I get to add items to my home-improvement store shopping list. (more…)

Home Birth

Well, if you don’t know, we are having a boy– unless there was a VERY tricky umbilical cord in the untrasound.

And like the first pregnancy, we are not announcing any names prior to birth to avoid outside influence.

Stormy and I also decided to have a home birth. So, unless there are medical indications to the contrary, we’ll be delivering the baby in the comfort of our own environment, without any parking problems, hospital germs, unnecessary medical intervention, and without any drugs. We are confident with our birthing team– we have dual doulas and dual midwives.

I doubt I’ll setup a webcam.

And Another…

Just when we thought we had enough to handle with Zane, we decided to bring another little one into this world. Yes, Stormy is pregnant. She is due mid-February, give or take the days that you give or take. We’ll find out if it’s a boy or a girl in a few weeks.

When we told Zane, he said “5 mowen babies?”

We both quickly responded with a “no.”

Happy New Year

Well, as typical with my website, I’m way behind on updates. Oh well. Cherish this moment, I guess.

Yes, we closed on our house in Colorado (this was back in September.) Unfortunately, rental season was already over, so it was hard getting it rented. We finally had a lease signed today, so we are pretty excited about that.

Laura is doing GREAT in school this trimester. Mostly A’s in all of her classes, except for Health. I guess this isn’t the Health class that I remember from highschool. The course consists of alot of biology and nutrition, which is challenging for Laura because of the language barrier.

Zane is in the terrible-two’s, although he’s only 20 months old today. He’s still pleasant most of the time, but is being much more whiney nowadays (it doesn’t help that he’s being weaned.) There are some semi-recent pictures of him online in his album.

Christmas is still not over for us. We’ve done the first round with Grandma and Grandpa Wagner and local family. We will be doing the second round with Grandma Kenzik this week. Grandpa Kenzik is scheduling a trip sometime soon. Auntie Lisa, Uncle Frank and cousin Ian will be arriving next weekend. I think we’ll be able to take the tree down in May.

Work is pretty hectic. I need to hire quite a few people. After some recent restructuring, I have about 34 positions in my department now. Anyone know a middle-level manager who can write Java and knows Oracle? If so, email me! I need the help.

That’s all for now.

New House, New Student, New Landscaping

In a couple weeks, Stormy and I will own a second home. For the past few years, we’ve been keeping an eye on real estate in Ft. Collins, CO. This year we decided to seriously consider an investment in a second home/rental. Well, during vacation this year with Zane and the girls (oh yah, Claudia and her sister, Carolin came to stay with us for a month this summer), Stormy and I poured through the MLS, visited about 10 houses, and finally found a house that we both really liked. We made an offer, it was countered, we accepted, and we will close in mid September.

. . .

Our new exchange student, Laura, arrived on August 10th from Switzerland. She just started at the local high school this week as a junior. She hates having her picture taken, so we’ll make sure we get some pictures of her online soon.

. . .

Our new landscaping is just about complete. A few finishing touches are needed in the backyard. We are very happy with the work. Our neighbors are very happy as well, since they get to enjoy it too. Photos are online.
